During the arrest, a search was conducted and Shs21 million in cash was recovered, which is believed to be part of the money stolen from the victim,” Owoyesigyire said.Preliminary investigations indicate that the robbery occurred when the victim was transporting money intended for business transactions.

The suspects allegedly trailed him before attacking and robbing him of the cash.Police say the arrested suspect is currently detained as detectives continue to hunt for other accomplices believed to have participated in the robbery.Authorities added that the recovered money has been secured as exhibit to support ongoing investigations and will be returned to the rightful owner once the legal process is completed.“We are actively pursuing the remaining suspects and urge members of the public with information that could assist in the investigations to come forward,” Owoyesigyire added.Police have warned the public, particularly business people who move with large sums of money, to exercise caution and where possible seek police escort or use secure banking channels when transporting cash. The suspect is expected to be charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony once investigations are completed and will be presented before court.
