Below are five major achievements of President Museveni and the NRM government that continue to inspire millions of Ugandans and explain why Kololo on 12th May 2026 will be the center of national excitement.

1.Peace and Stability: The Foundation of Uganda’s Progress

Before the NRM came into power in 1986, Uganda faced years of political instability, civil conflict, and economic collapse. Under President Museveni’s leadership, Uganda has enjoyed decades of relative peace and national stability.

Today, Ugandans can move freely across the country, conduct business, educate their children, and invest in their future without fear of widespread conflict. Security agencies have strengthened national peace, enabling tourism, agriculture, trade, and foreign investment to grow steadily.

Many citizens believe this stability remains one of the greatest reasons why President Museveni continues to receive overwhelming support across the country.

2.Massive Infrastructure Development Across Uganda

The transformation of Uganda’s infrastructure under the NRM government is visible everywhere.

Modern highways, upgraded airports, bridges, electricity expansion, and improved urban roads have changed the face of Uganda. Projects like the Kampala-Entebbe Expressway, new industrial parks, and rural electrification programs have accelerated economic activity and connected communities like never before.

Under the 2026–2031 vision, supporters anticipate even greater modernization, industrial growth, and digital transformation that will create more opportunities for the youth.

Kololo will therefore symbolize not only political victory, but also Uganda’s continued journey toward modernization.

President Museveni’s government has consistently emphasized wealth creation, household income improvement, and youth empowerment.

Programs such as:Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga ,Operation Wealth Creation and Youth and Women Funds have been introduced to support small businesses, farmers, and local entrepreneurs.

Millions of Ugandans have benefited from improved access to capital, agricultural support, and market opportunities. The government’s focus on industrialization and value addition has also strengthened Uganda’s economy and regional trade position.

Supporters believe the next term from 2026–2031 will deepen economic empowerment and increase household incomes across Uganda.

4.Expansion of Education and Health Services

Education and healthcare remain among the strongest pillars of the NRM government.

Through Universal Primary Education (UPE) and Universal Secondary Education (USE), millions of Ugandan children have gained access to affordable education. Universities, technical institutes, and vocational training centers have expanded across the country, empowering the youth with skills for employment and innovation.

The health sector has also improved through:

Construction of health centers
Recruitment of medical personnel
Expansion of regional referral hospitals

Many families today can access services that were once unavailable in rural communities.

President Museveni is widely recognized as one of Africa’s long-serving and influential leaders. Uganda has strengthened diplomatic relations, regional security cooperation, and East African integration under his leadership.

Uganda’s role in peacekeeping missions, trade partnerships, and regional stability has elevated the country’s influence on the African continent.
